Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Aurora Forecast iOS app and website at auroraforecast.io (together, the "Service"), operated by Revon ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Aurora Forecast provides aurora borealis forecasts, maps, and push notifications based on space weather data. The Service is intended for informational and entertainment purposes only.

• Forecasts are based on scientific models and publicly available data from NOAA and other sources. They are estimates, not guarantees.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any forecast or notification.
• Aurora visibility depends on many factors beyond our control, including local weather, light pollution, and atmospheric conditions.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Aurora Forecast offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("Revon Pro"). By subscribing:

• Billing: Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. All payments are processed by Apple — we do not collect or store your payment information.
• Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple per their refund policy.
• Price changes: We may change subscription pricing. Apple will notify you of any price increase and require opt-in before charging the new price.

4. Account and Device

You do not need to create an account. The Service identifies your device using an anonymous Installation ID stored in your device's Keychain. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the Service to build a competing product or for commercial redistribution
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal app usage
• Circumvent any access restrictions or subscription requirements

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Revon and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Space weather data from NOAA is in the public domain. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Aurora forecasts are probabilistic estimates — do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions or travel planning.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Revon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. Sections 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
